Since Jessie's grave is unmarked, Mom is standing on the spot where her headstone would be.
Jessie Griffin is Mom's grandmother and the daughter of William Griffin and Cornelia Tuttle.
She was born in Ashland, NY, but lived much of her life in Vestal, NY. She married Howard Christian before 1913 and had three children, the oldest of whom was Grandma.
On a recent trip to Vestal, NY, we found the house where Jessie and Howard lived for many years as well as the location on Bunn Hill where Grandma and Papa lived and where Aunty Alice was born. These photos appear on the Law Christian Family Album page.
While at the cemetery in Vestal, we learned that when she died, Jessie and Howard were living in Norwood, Rhode Island. Howard wrote letters to the cemetery from Norwood some years later seeking to sell his plot in the cemetery. At this point, I do not know where Howard is buried.
