He was born 16 Apr 1854 in Monson, Massachusetts, and died 15 Apr 1925 in Springfield, Massachusetts.

 

Both Nellie and Charles are buried in the West Cemetery, south side of Rt. 190, Somers, Connecticut along with Charles parents, Jason and Elizabeth, his brother George and his wife Martha, George's son Clarence, and Jason's sister, Phoebe. This stone is on the Gravestones page.

 

Nellie and Charles bought themselves a large family Bible and presented it to themselves in May of 1898, after 17 years of marriage. This Bible is the one referred to in Aunt Nonie's Notes and Letters. I contacted the current holder of the Bible, Peggy French, widow of Stuart French, 16 ii in this genealogy, and she was gracious enough to have us for a visit in May of 2008 and I got to see the Bible and photograph it. It is over 110 years old at this point and a priceless family treasure. It can be seen on the Dexter Family Bible page.
